Q: If ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution requires no pre-cleaning of infected ears, then when would ZYMOX Ear Cleanser be recommended?

A: The ZYMOX Ear Cleanser is ideal post-treatment for cleaning dirty ears. It is not always necessary to clean ears however many pet owners opt for this product to help reduce odors and keep dirty waxy ears clean.

Q: What is recommended when a pet's ears are painful to the touch?

A: ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution may be applied directly into ear and then let pet shake out excess. Do this once a day till ear implementation is relieved. The ears may then be gently messaged with ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear solution until the infection is gone. ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution is incredibly easy to administer and only needs to be administered once a day.

Q: What if a pet owner doesn’t see improvement when using ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution?

A: Occasionally, a pet owner will not achieve the desired results after two weeks of use. Often times, this is due to the pet owner not following the recommended no pre-cleaning protocol. Cleaning disrupts the enzymatic activity and may make the product less effective. Additionally, many times a resistant microorganism is the culprit behind the chronic ear infection in which case ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution should be used for an additional two weeks. If recommended directions have been followed, and after 4 weeks there is still an active ear infection then consult a veterinarian.

Q: Are there any special precautions using ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution?

A: Do not use ZYMOX Enzymatic Ear Solution if the pet has a ruptured eardrum. Do not use this product in conjunction with any other topical ear medications or cleansers. Q: What is the benefit of the Hydrocortisone?

A: The anti-inflammatory properties of Hydrocortisone have provided much relief to pets with itchy, irritated skin and inflamed wounds or infections of either the ears or skin.

Q: Is it necessary that I use ZYMOX Shampoo before applying the ZYMOX Rinse, or can I use the shampoo that I already have?

A: ZYMOX Shampoo is the recommended shampoo to use with ZYMOX Rinse because its known gentle plant surfactants will not affect the enzyme formula in the rinse and its effectiveness. ZYMOX Shampoo does not contain harsh detergents, pesticides, colorings or residual petroleum products that might cause unnecessary skin irritation. These and other harsh surfactants used in many other medicated pet shampoos could potentially destroy or disrupt the bioactive enzymes formula of the leave on rinse.

Q: Could I use ZYMOX Shampoo and ZYMOX Rinse to treat skin infections due to a flea or tick infestation?

A: Yes, if there is a secondary infection resulting from the affected flea infested area, then we would suggest ZYMOX Shampoo followed by the leave-on ZYMOX Rinse for extra long lasting protection between each bath. If there is only a flea infestation with no irritation or infection to the skin tissue then we recommend a general flea and tick product in order to eliminate the fleas.

Q: How are ZYMOX antimicrobial skin and ear products different from other products on the market?

A: The ZYMOX line of skin and ear care products contains no antibiotics or harsh chemicals but rather employs the powerful & patented LP3 antimicrobial enzyme system to effectively eradicate even the toughest infections, including MRSA. The products can safely be used on all pets and all ages.

Q: What studies have been done on the ZYMOX Antimicrobial Ear and Skin Care Products?

Q: How do I ensure optimal results when treating for skin infections?

A: In order to optimize results using ZYMOX Topical Spray or Cream, follow the no pre-cleaning protocol. Rinsing the infected area with water is allowed however no cleaning or antiseptic agent is necessary before treatment with the ZYMOX topicals. The LP3 antimicrobial enzyme system contained in the ZYMOX topicals is bioactive with the infectious pus and debris to form its antimicrobial ions. When dealing with itchy allergy skin and general superficial skin infections, many pet owners have found ZYMOX shampoo and rinse to be excellent additions to the topicals.
